Live Art for børn

Siden 2014 har festivalen årligt præsenteret internationale kunstnere med live kunstoplevelser, der undersøger spørgsmål til vores fælles virkelighed og samfundet – fra klima og identitet til demokrati, fællesskab og fremtid.

Årets festival har hentet sin inspiration fra Aarhus kommunes socialpolitiske udfordringer. Den præsenterer kunstnere fra Danmark, Sverige og Storbritannien, som hver især inviterer publikum ind i vidt forskellige universer:

Oplev Secret Hotels sanselige performance om vand, klimakrise og fremtidens ressourcer i Spillet om H2O, gå til fest med Filip Vests Hjertet på ærmet, hvor eufori og sårbarhed kolliderer på dansegulvet, eller mød Jamal Gerald i en fortrolig én-til-én samtale om identitet, privilegier og de måder, vi ser hinanden på i You See.

Publikum kan også være med til at bygge videre på visionerne for John Huntingtons Den Nye Skole, flette personlige minder ind i Leif Holmstrands voksende fællesværk Ruin Recalled eller lade børn overtage styringen af fremtidens velfærdssamfund i Mette Riises En fremtid med fremtid. 

Festivalen byder desuden på det humoristiske brevkasseshow Spørg Naturen, hvor kunstnere og naturforskere besvarer publikums spørgsmål med inspiration fra myrer, fugle og andre arter, og på Klassebytningen, hvor aarhusianske skoleelever undersøger sociale fællesskaber og forskelligheder på baggrund af den dag, hvor de byttede liv med hinanden. 

Festivalen Live Art for Børn produceres af Live Art Danmark, en prisvindende organisation, der blev grundlagt i 2004 af Henrik Vestergaard og Ellen Friis med det formål at præsentere, udvikle og dokumentere nyskabende live kunst, der inddrager et publikum i alle aldre og udforsker vores fælles samfund og virkelighed med fantasi, mod og humor.

Live Art for Children is a festival where the audience becomes an active participant. Children, young people, and adults are invited into the artworks as co-creators.

Since 2014, the festival has presented international artists each year with live art experiences that explore questions about our shared reality and society—from climate and identity to democracy, community, and the future.

This year's festival draws inspiration from the social policy challenges facing the Municipality of Aarhus. It features artists from Denmark, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, each inviting audiences into very different worlds:

Experience Secret Hotel's immersive performance about water, the climate crisis, and the resources of the future in The Game of H2O. Join the celebration in Filip Vest's Heart on My Sleeve, where euphoria and vulnerability collide on the dance floor. Or meet Jamal Gerald in an intimate one-to-one conversation about identity, privilege, and the ways we see one another in You See.

Audiences can also help shape the visions of the future in John Huntington's The New School, weave personal memories into Leif Holmstrand's growing collective artwork Ruin Recalled, or let children take charge of tomorrow's welfare society in Mette Riise's A Future with a Future.

The festival also presents the humorous advice show Ask Nature (Ask the Flock), where artists and natural scientists answer the audience's questions with inspiration from ants, birds, and other species. Another highlight is The Class Exchange, in which schoolchildren from Aarhus explore social communities and differences through the experience of swapping lives with one another for a day.

Live Art for Children is produced by Live Art Denmark, an award-winning organisation founded in 2004 by Henrik Vestergaard and Ellen Friis. Its mission is to present, develop, and document innovative live art that engages audiences of all ages while exploring our shared society and reality with imagination, courage, and humour.
