English Book Clubs at Dokk1

Are you interested in discussing literature in English? Then join the English Book Club at Dokk1; a cosy and welcoming space for literature lovers like yourself.

The book club will meet monthly to discuss the book of the month, and the agenda is as follows:

• Discuss book
• Drink coffee
• Have a laugh and and get to know each other

As a special treat, Dokk1 will provide the books for the club.

We’re reading international literature and we try to choose fiction from as many continents as possible. We read both classics (e.g. Vladimir Nabokov and Flynn O’Brien), prize winners (e.g. Abdulrazak Gurnah and Kazuo Ishiguro), Danish authors (e.g. Olga Ravn and Solvej Balle), wonderfully weird litterature (like Sayaka Murata and Yevgenia Belorusets) and current literary trends like k-healing. 

The book club is targeted the international community in Aarhus as well as Danes who want to speak English in a literary context.

We have two english book clubs at Dokk1. One on Mondays the other on Tuesdays. 

The Monday club is fully booked at the moment, but we have available spots in the Tuesday Club. Contact us at anhaf@aarhus.dk if you want to sign up for the Tuesday club or join the waiting list for the Monday club.
